CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

Welcome to the Fall classes at Cochrane Arts Central. We have a full slate of classes in all
mediums for every skill level and age!
ONGOING MONTHLY CLASSES
The monthly format of
classes is working great! You simply
sign up for a month (4 week session) and keep going, if you want.
All teachers have the same mandate which is to help all students achieve
success in painting and drawing, whatever their skill level, and to enjoy the
process!
- Ongoing Monthly Drawing with Scot Paisley
Scot will teach the student a series of lessons which will implement
perspective and composition. As well,
the student will learn and use various mediums and draw subjects which appeal
to the individual. Students will be
encouraged to express their interest in subject matter. For example, figurative drawing and portrait
drawing may be implemented at some point. This class is open to all skill
levels from beginner to advanced. Everyone learns at their own level – so
absolutely no intimidation. Try it! This
class is offered Monday mornings or Monday evenings.
Monthly classes (4 weeks) start the first Monday of each month
7 pm – 9:30 pm -- $125/month
- Ongoing Monthly Children (ages 7-10 yrs) Drawing/Painting with Scot Paisley
Scot has taught all ages for several years. He is a master drawer and will have your
child creating like a “real artist”. He
will also use colored mediums – pastel, paint, etc.
Monthly classes (4 weeks) start the first Monday of each month
4 pm – 5:30 pm -- $105/month
4 pm – 5:30 pm -- $105/month
- Ongoing Monthly Oil with Cheryl Peddie
We are very excited to have Cheryl join our team! Oil is her medium of
choice and she will guide the student on their journey – from beginner to
intermediate. Learn how to design a painting
and take it to completion. Oil is a
versatile medium – and she will teach and demo its beautiful qualities. You can check her out online! This class is
offered Tuesday afternoons or Tuesday evenings.
Monthly classes (4 weeks) start the first Tuesday of each month
1 pm – 4 pm -- $145/month

- Ongoing Monthly Acrylic, Watercolor, Oil with Marla Blackwell
In this class Marla will teach composition, design, perspective, color
choices, and much more. Students learn at their own level and paint the project
of their choice. This class is offered
Wednesdays or Thursdays (you pick which day of the week).
Monthly classes (4 weeks) start the first Wednesday or Thursday of each month.
10 am – 1 pm -- $145/month

Ongoing Monthly Youth (ages 11 – 15 yrs.) Drawing/Painting with Scot Paisley
This class is designed for the youth between ages 11 and 15. Scot has taught all ages for several
years. He will use pencil as well as color
mediums – pastel, paint, etc.
Monthly classes (4 weeks) start the first Wednesday of each month

Watercolor (4 weeks October/November) with Ann
Perodeau
Ann will teach all the magic watercolor can bring to painting. There are so many techniques for watercolor
painting and Ann will demo them for you. Such as layering of colours, wet into wet, dry
brush, negative painting and more.

WORKSHOPS
Weekend
workshops are available too – we will be adding more to these as we confirm
dates.
- Oil Pastel & Ink Workshop with Colleen McCrae
This technique is brand new to Cochrane Arts Central. Colleen showed us and we loved it. It is a fun technique where you use pastel,
ink and mineral spirit to get a super cool technique on paper! There will be a sample of her work in the
store.
October 26 - 10 am – 4 pm $95.00
- Sampler Workshop with Marla Blackwell
This workshop will be offered in the New Year. Keep an eye on the mail-outs for final dates and times.

FREE FRIDAYS:
We have Open Studio on Fridays
here! You can come paint all day, 10 –
5, at no charge. This gives students an
opportunity to work on projects and interact and feed off the energy of
others! It’s catching on for sure - was busy all summer. Join in the fun!

Cancellation Policy – there is a $30.00
administrative fee for all class refunds.
No refunds 3 weeks prior to a class unless there is a waiting list and
someone to fill your reserved spot. We
do not have time slots to make up classes that are missed.
There will be a supply list available
for you upon registration. Class fees do
not include supplies. All supplies are
available at Cochrane Arts Central. You
will receive a loyalty card which we stamp when you make purchases over
$10. Once the card is filled (20 stamps)
you will receive $20.00 in free product!
